KELLY & JOE

Despite the billion things I have going on at the moment, because I'm cool I've agreed to help contribute illustrations to a magazine being set up by a couple of people I know studying in London. They initially wanted me to illustrate their portraits for the intro page (below) and at some stage they'd like me to illustrate a still from a photoshoot they're doing to compliment the editorial.

THUG LIFE

As future technology being one of five topics I've wrote about towards Contextual Studies I thought it was appropriate to mention this in my essay. Coachella is a three-day music & arts festival held in April in Indigo, California, and the most talked-about event this weekend just-gone was the 'live' performance of late rap legend Tupac Shakur, despite the fact he died more than 15 years ago. The hologram/CGI work of art was created by Digital Domain Media Group Inc. and is believed to have cost more than $400,000. Watch a visual Pac perform alongside Snoop Dogg in the video below. Awesome.

On the friday before Easter Break, lecturer Nick gave us a tutorial on putting together a poster which was inspired by Swiss Design. I never got round to finishing the poster itself therefore haven't been able to blog about it, so I decided to make a poster of my own, involving features we learnt and which were used in the poster from the tutorial (e.g blending options and colour editing). I used the tutorial itself as the subject of the poster as something to work with.
